Laser Assisted Surgery
Laser surgery has numerous applications in oral and maxillofacial surgery. By utilizing a laser, the patient will experience decreased swelling, decreased pain, decreased bleeding, less scarring and a quicker recuperation as compared to conventional surgical techniques. The most commonly utilized laser is the carbon dioxide or CO2 laser.
The CO2 laser can be successfully employed to perform any of the following surgical procedures: biopsies, removal of oral lesions, removal of facial skin lesions, exposure of dental implants, excision of excess gum tissue and for cosmetic skin resurfacing.
At your consultation visit, Dr. Klausner will discuss the indications for laser surgery and will review alternative treatment options.
