Buccal Fat Pad Reduction

A certain number of patients presenting for consultation for facial cosmetic surgery will exhibit fullness of the buccal (cheek) area. The patient may indicate that their cheeks are too full or that there is a lack of definition of the cheekbones. In these instances, cosmetic surgical revision of the buccal fat pads can be performed to enhance the definition and prominence of the cheeks.

The procedure is easily performed in the office setting through an incision in the mouth inside of the cheek tissue. Moderate swelling for several days can be expected and the patient can resume their normal activities within a few days.
